Ryder Cup and October events

The Ryder Cup has returned to American Soil in Chaska, Minnesota. The site of the 2016 Ryder Cup…Hazeltine. One of the premier country clubs in the nation, it is an ideal venue for this prestigious event. Player like Jordan Speith, Dustin Johnson, Phil Mickelson, Rickie Fowler,  Rory Mcllroy, Henrik Stenson, Justin Rose and many other will participate in a grueling match play event for international bragging right. Team USA has lost 8 of the last 10 Ryder Cups and haven’t claimed victory since 2008. This gives team Europe confidence going into the event with momentum on their side. However, the American and their fans are confident that this is the year to break the European dominance as of late.

We have now entered the autumn months here at Medicine Hole. As the weather begins to cool off quicker and quicker we would like to remind all of our guests that there could be some mornings where tee times need to be held off in order to allow the overnight frost to melt. With too much frost on the course and players going out it can do long term damage to our golf course. Going into October we will continue to have Men’s night every Tuesday starting at 4:00 pm and Ladies’ night every other Wednesday at 4:00 pm. Please refer to our monthly calendar or call us here at the clubhouse with any questions you have about upcoming events. On Monday October. 10th we will have a High School Cross Country meet here at the course starting at 4:00 pm and the course will be closed from the start of the meet until the end of the day.

Roughrider Cup Results!

After two days of golf played at Pheasant Country Golf Course (South Heard) and Medicine Hole Golf Course (Killdeer), Pheasant Country won the cup for a fourth year in a row. The members from Medicine Hole Golf Course fought hard and played many competitive matches at both courses. Most of the matches played were decided on the 8th or 9th holes in each of the formats. It was an excellent turnout at both courses for the event and we hope we can have everyone out again next season for this event!
